This show is so amazing!!! I can barely contain myself the day it comes on Adult swim (saturdays at around 10-11:00) Its one of the greatest shows i have had the honor to watch! The story line is spectacular the action is amazing you will love it believe me and even though it has tons of action it has time to find the funny side of things wheather it be Ichigo got his Zanpaktou stuck in a wall or his crazy dad attaked him while he was sleeping or Karin smacks her dad for being dumb. It is also one of those shows that will catch you off guard and hae you on the edge of your seats or if your like me you fell off your seat right onthe floor. It also has those tear jerking episodes. I have cried, laughed and fell off my seat plenty of times watching this show!! Its amazing and i am so thankful it is here and hopefully will stay!!!!!

Bleach Uncut Season 3 Box Set: The Rescue Specifications
The third season of the hit fantasy-adventure Bleach marks the conclusion of the story arc that began in “The Substitute” two seasons earlier. Orange-haired, hot-tempered Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends–Chad, Orihime, Ishida, and Master Yoruichi, the talking cat–pass through the inter-dimensional portal linking Earth to the Seireitei, the stronghold of the Soul Society. Although they’ve come to rescue Rukia from execution, the arrival of the teenagers precipitates a deadly civil war within the Soul Society. Amid the growing chaos, Yoruichi reveals she was a princess in the Seireitei before she fled to Earth. When she realizes Ichigo isn’t strong enough to survive the impending battles, Yoruichi spirits him away. He must be able to achieve Bankai, the ultimate power over his Zanpak-tô sword, which he learns by dueling with Zangetsu, the spirit of the sword. Despite exhaustion and the wounds he’s received, Ichigo fights with grim determination. While Ichigo trains, some of the Soul Society’s most formidable officers join the teenagers, including Toshiro, the child-prodigy captain, the fantastically tattooed Renji, and the spiky-haired Kenpachi. Ichigo arrives just in time to save Rukia. Drawing on the grueling training he’s just completed, Ichigo fends off the clouds of murderous blades summoned by Rukia’s haughty brother Byakuya. During the battle, Ichigo begins to grow a half-mask that resembles the monstrous Hollows. Horrified, he rips it away and renews his attack. But Ichigo has no time to celebrate his narrow victory: he, his friends, Rukia, and the Soul Society Captains have all been used as pawns by an unscrupulous villain. Director Noriyuke Abe once again shifts from dramatic derring-do to broad comedy as he sets the stage for the next story arc. Ichigo’s time in the Seireitei made him stronger–but is he strong enough for the adventures that await him? (Rated “Teen,” suitable for ages 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery, alcohol use, risqué humor) –Charles Solomon

Bleach, Volume 3: The Substitute (Episodes 9-12) Review

Ichigo Kurosaki is one of those many anime heroes that takes his fights very, very personally.
And in the third volume of “Bleach’s” anime, he’s called on to defend his pride not once but twice — first by his mother’s killer, and then by a new rival. In the meantime, the anime also serves up some backstory on Ichigo’s gentle giant pal Chad, and an unabashedly goofy spiritualist who makes Ichigo’s duties just a little harder to perform.
Ichigo is enraged by Grand Fisher’s attacks on his little sisters — and the realization that this Hollow killed his mother six years ago. Telling Rukia not to interfere, he charges in with the intent of killing the Hollow even if he is killed in the process. Unfortunately Grand Fisher has a dirty trick up his sleeve — but the trick might turn on him as well.
Then the hit TV show “Spirit Hunter” comes to Karakura — and though Ichigo loathes the show, he gets dragged along by his family and Rukia. Unfortunately flamboyant host Don Kanonji has a unique method for disposing of ghosts — and it happens to turn “bad spirits” into Hollows. Now Ichigo must somehow dispose of the new froggy Hollow without endangering the crowds…. and on live TV.
Then Rukia starts receiving Hollow signals, only to have the signals vanish by the time she and Ichigo arrive. Turns out it’s prickly classmate Uryu Ishida — who also turns out to be a Quincy, the mortal enemy of Soul Reapers. He ropes Ichigo into a Hollow-slaying contest, deliberately causing Karakura to be overrun. And across town, Chad is attacked by one particularly large one as he tries to defend Ichigo’s little sister Karin — and calls on a new power of his own.
The third volume of the “Bleach” anime is something of a crossroad — the plot is obviously about to blow out in every direction, with more Hollows than ever before. And additionally, it’s pretty obvious that soon more Soul Reapers will be entering the scene — and it sounds like this might be a bad thing for Rukia.
In the meantime, we get plenty of slam-bang, gory action — Chad’s punching power, Ichigo’s vengeful duel with Grand Fisher, Uryu’s glowing spirit bow, and even our hero haplessly being dragged up the side of a building by a giant frog. Additionally, we get the gruesome details of how a Hollow is made, and a flashback of Rukia’s that hints at her own darker past.
But there’s a lot of comic relief. The Don Kanonji episode is full of it (”BOWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”), right up to the end. Even the grimmer episodes have their funny moments (”Noooooo! I’m friends with a NERD!” Keigo howls upon discovering that Ichigo is No. 23 in their class), especially when the writers start mocking Ichigo’s memory problems (”Icky… bow… icky-bow… METAL-SU! Ichy… ichy-armadillo!”).
And Ichigo reaches a sort of catharsis for his feelings of guilt, particularly in a touching scene where he hears her last thoughts. Fortunately then it’s back to goofy pals and Hollows to provide the usual levels of stress. And we finally see Isshin acting like a real dad for once — his graveside talk with a grief-stricken Ichigo is both touching and rather cute.
Additionally, these episodes introduce Uryu, a sort of anti-Ichigo — he’s prickly, chilly, sews like a maestro and hates Soul Reapers. It’s not clear why yet, but perhaps it has something to do with the old man he thinks about. And we get to see some fleshing out of Chad’s personality, particularly since we see a pep talk given to him by his kindly old grandfather.
The third volume of “Bleach” fleshes out the characters, introduces a new one, and inserts some laughter before veering into a deadly Hollow-killing contest.
Bleach, Volume 3: The Substitute (Episodes 9-12) Overview
Ichigo and Rukia continue their work as Soul Reapers, protecting the spirits and the living. But they are not the only ones with the power to defeat the evil Hollows. A rival called a Quincy appears with fearsome powers of his own–and a grudge against all Soul Reapers. When he issues a Hollow-battling challenge to Ichigo, it could spell the destruction of the world of the living!
Bleach, Volume 3: The Substitute (Episodes 9-12) Specifications
Director Noriyuke Abe ably juggles battles, emotional scenes, and slapstick as the popular comedy-adventure Bleach continues. In a rare, gentle moment, Ichigo’s father tells him he shouldn’t blame himself for his mother’s death, but should honor her memory by living in ways that would make her proud. Although his father’s advice buoys his spirits, Ichigo vows to avenge his mother by slaying the Grand Fisher, the powerful Hollow that killed her. Ichigo and Rukia face a more immediate challenge at school. Uryu Ishida, the top student in their class, is a “Quincy:” a descendant of a clan of Hollow-hunters who despise their rival Soul Reapers. The icy Uryu challenges Ichigo to see who can kill more Hollows, and releases a potion that attracts the hideous creatures. When a Hollow threatens Ichigo’s sister Karin, his muscular friend Chad unleashes his latent monster-fighting powers to save her. It’s everything Bleach fans love and expect. (Rated “Teen,” suitable for ages 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery) –Charles Solomon

Bleach, Vol. 17 Review

At last, the writers FINALLY get to the point of the anime’s Bount Arc — for one thing, they reveal what the Bount are, and the reason for the bizarre challenges that Ichigo and the others have been going through. “Bleach Volume 17″ deftly answers most of the questions and starts some wonderfully creepy Bount-related action, but the last episode is a bit of a borefest.
While Ichigo and Co. agonize over what to do about Chad, they receive a note: destroy the gate in 30 minutes or else! Unfortunately the Hell Gate has acquired a funny new characteristic, namely that it sucks in everything that isn’t nailed down (and a few things that are).
And after one final challenge set by the modsouls, Ichigo and his friends learn the true mastermind behind the whole scheme — their old pal Urahara. He tells them all about the immortal, soul-sucking Bounts and their increased presence in Karakura. Unfortunately when the gang locates some Bounts (with the help of the modsouls in new plush toys), Ichigo soon realizes that the Bounts’ strange “dolls” may be too much for them to handle. Think fire and snakes.
In the meantime, Yoruichi, Soi Fom and Ukitake have begun an investigation into the strange happenings in Karakura — even to the point of the two women stumbling across a feeding Bount. And Mayuri Kurotsuchi discovers that he’s locked out of the relevant data. In response, the Soul Society sends another (very familiar) Soul Reaper to take on the Bount problem…
“Bleach Volume 17″ is basically devoted to telling viewers what the Bounts are (soul vampires!), clarifying their threat to our heroes (they have power-manifesting “dolls”!), and setting up the rest of the anime arc. These four episodes are a bit fragmented, but it does a good job answering viewers’ questions, while still leaving some mysteries (how does Yoruichi recognize Yoshino?) up in the air.
And it has the usual blend of comedy and action that “Bleach” usually does — on one hand, the Bount dolls provide some wall-smashing violence and creepy unpredictability (Uryu even gets throttled by one). But the modsouls also provide some comedy, especially when Ichigo, Orihime and Chad all go on the hunt for appropriate plush toys for them to inhabit (”You can’t be so picky! The only stuffed animals left are some nasty ol’ drool-covered ones from when Karin and Yuzu were just babies!”).
But these episodes do have a few flaws — Ichigo and Renji seem to spend half their time squirting testosterone at each other. Seriously, the alpha male content is verging on parody. And Rukia’s inclusion while she’s not yet powered up feels rather contrived.
Fortunately that’s the only real characterization problem. But the Bounts offer some promise for conflict (especially the charming, sinister Kariya), and the Soul Reapers are woven expertly into the storyline, including some underused favorites like Ukitake, Kyoraku, Soi Fon, and the acid-tongued boy-genius Hitsugaya (”Interesting, Rangiku. Then I suppose that mountain of files hidden over there behind the sofa is just my imagination”).
“Bleach 17″ suffers from a slightly fragmented series of episodes, but it’s a promising start to this anime-only arc. And it promises to get more interesting in the next round…

Bleach Vol. 13: The Rescue (Episodes 50-53) Review

The day of Rukia Kuchiki’s execution has arrived, and all hell breaks loose.
That basically sums up the thirteenth volume of the “Bleach” anime, which first pacifies us with an amusing little filler episode before hurtling into the beginning of the Soul Society’s battle. Not only does it start up a rebellion in the Seireitei’s ranks, but it also brings Renji’s personal struggles with Rukia and her brother to a dramatic — and bloody — climax.
First: the reappearance of the entertaining-in-very-small-doses Don Kanonji, whose show has dropped in the ratings. His solution: reform the Karakura Superheroes and get a new mascot, who happens to be a certain lecherous stuffed lion. But Kon ends up running away as the craziness increases, and is kidnapped by an amorous Hollow. Can the Karakura Superheroes save the day — and the ratings?
Then it’s back to the Soul Society. On the day of Rukia’s execution, Zaraki busts the fugitives out of prison and attempts to take them to the execution ground — only to encounter Tosen and Komamura, who are determined to stop him. As Ikkaku and Yumichika square off against Tosen and Komamura’s lieutenants, Zaraki delightedly begins fighting his fellow captains — only to be trapped in Tosen’s bankai, a realm with no sight or sound. But the “monster” is far cleverer than Tosen thought…
Meanwhile, Renji starts slashing his way toward the execution ground — only to encounter Byakuya, who is determined that nothing will stop his sister’s execution. After years of wanting to defeat Byakuya, Renji confidently uses his newly acquired bankai — only to see the full extent of Byakuya’s power, and his own devastating bankai.
After a lot of dancing around the impending execution and the conspiracy surroundingit, the whole Soul Society arc is finally reaching its climax. And it’s a pretty explosive one — there’s a minor civil war brewing, complete with captains and lieutenants fighting one another and mass prison breaks. And oh irony, it’s only gonna get worse from here — especially since Ichigo has almost achieved bankai.
The first episode is pretty much non-stop goofiness, complete with a tornado, a stuffed-toy-molesting Hollow who has a thang for Kon, and lots of girly doll clothes. Alas, poor Kon.
But then it gets serious fast — suddenly the focus switches to Zaraki’s two-man duel, as well as the parallel fights with Ikkaku and Yumichika. There’s still some goofiness — Yachiru bites Ikkaku and headbutts Orihime — but most of it is devoted to some nasty, extremely creative action scenes. Turns out that Tosen and Komamura have some very interesting bankais, and Yumichika’s sword has a special ability of its own.
And the episode focusing on Renji is stunning both visually and in its storytelling. As the two men clash over whether or not Rukia will die, we’re treated to a battle of thrashing giant skeletal serpents, flower petals and floating swords, as well as some heavy-duty sprays of blood and shattering blades. They also wreck several buildings in their battle, and its climax is heartbreakingly poignant as Renji is forced to face his own shortcomings.
Once again, Ichigo doesn’t take center stage — we get some glimpses of his bankai training, but not much more. More focus is centered on Zaraki, who proves to be far cleverer and more intelligent than the self-righteous Tosen gives him credit for, and Renji, whose determination drives him even to the point of death. And though Byakuya comes across as the bad guy, there’s a brief hint of the person inside — we see him speaking to a photo in his bedroom.
The thirteenth volume of “Bleach” kicks off with some pure comedy, but rapidly descends into earthshattering fights and a brewing rebellion. And things will only get more intense.

Bleach Vol. 13: The Rescue (Episodes 50-53) Specifications
As the third season of Bleach continues, director Noriyuke Abe shifts from farcical comedy to high adventure with the seemingly effortless grace of a gymnast sticking a dismount. TV star Don Kanonji finds Kon the stuffed lion wandering around and recruits the plushie, Ichigo’s sisters, and Urahara’s assistants Jinta and Ururu, for a campaign to boost his show’s flagging ratings. This slapstick interlude offers a respite from the vicious battles raging in the land of the Soul Society. Chaos reigns in the armed compound of the Seireitei, as many of the captains and lieutenants join the teenagers from Earth in the effort to rescue Rukia. While Kenpachi and Renji take on their former comrades-in-arms, Yoruichi oversees Ichigo’s struggles to achieve Bankai, the ultimate power over his Zanpak- tô sword. Despite exhaustion and wounds he’s received from Zangetsu, the spirit of his sword, Ichigo continues to train with super-human determination. But time is running out: The morning of Rukia’s execution is dawning, with her brother Byakuya and the reptilean Ichimaru stand ready to fight off any challengers.
